Big Taurus Energy with a Flower Blood Moon in Scorpio

Big Taurus Energy with a Flower Blood Moon in Scorpio

Tonight we will experience a total lunar eclipse (aka Red Moon or Blood Moon) in Scorpio, with the sun in Taurus.

Buckle up! Let’s explore.

We are well into the Taurus zodiac season. Taurus, ruled by the planet Venus, is an earth sign and the anchor of the zodiac. Those born under this sign tend to be grounded in their earthly endeavors; practical and determined, they are in touch with their finances and ambitions. Although they can be stubborn (like the bull that represents this sign) and stuck in their ways, their resistance to change can be enriching via their stability, dedication, and loyalty.

Arriving after fiery Aries and the arrival of Spring, Taurus welcomes pause; a moment of stability and consistency where we can be present to the blossoming beauty in front of us. We can appreciate the generosity of the earth, and truly enjoy physical and sensual pleasures.

This Scorpio full moon is charged with emotional energy!

The moon is in Scorpio; a water sign ruled by Mars. The moon is the celestial body that guides the waters within us and our planet, assisting with emotional expression. Right now there is big full moon energy influenced by the controlling energy of Mars.

With the Blood Moon eclipse taking place on May 15, this flood of emotion may feel challenging and overwhelming. As waves of emotion arise, there may be a tendency to feel stuck in those big feelings.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the moon and the Sun during its orbit, casting a shadow on the moon. The reddish tint on the moon is created by this shadow, resulting in a "blood moon."

Use this time to slow down and reconnect to your body.

The mind-body connection is where we can find peace through tonight’s Blood Moon. This is a great time to be in touch with the earth energy of Taurus.

The Chakra that connects to Taurus, our Root Chakra, is our primary energy center connecting to the earth. It informs our sense of security and place. It is where seeds of trust develop, where we can learn and grow from all of our experiences, whether we perceive them as good or bad. This chakra reminds us of our interdependence with the earth, we are one! There is a strong mothering energy here, and there is no coincidence that both Earth Day and Mother’s Day are celebrated during Taurus season.

Our Root Chakra is located at the base of the spine, at the Pericardium. It’s sense organ is the nose, so now is a good time to light incense/candles or apply your favorite earthy perfumes and essential oils. The action organ of this chakra is the feet, so find grounding by in a park or enjoy a hike. Create spaciousness, slowness, and presence with a Yin or restorative yoga class.

Taurus crystal #1: Carnelian

Red is the color of the Root Chakra, and this stone is associated with both the Root and Sacral Chakras. It is an abundance stone gleaming with life energy. It brings joy and positivity which can help a Taurus out of obsessive or negative patterns, redirecting that energy into creative solutions.

Taurus crystal #2: Rose Quartz

Rose Quartz is the love stone, and connects to both the Heart and Crown Chakras. The ambitious Taurus with a propensity for perfectionism can be too much in their heads. This stone helps to re-connect to the intelligence of the heart, and open to spacious thinking. The symbol of Venus is a circle, which connects to higher energies. The Venus-Taurus relationship brings divinity to earth, so we can see the divine essence in all things. Our Rose Quartz Moon Crystal Slider Charm perfectly encapsulates this, with the circle stone drawing heavenly energy into the square, representing earth.

Below are some activities that ground and connect me to my root. What is on your list?

  • Meditating with my eyes open - specifically Samatha Vipassana
  • Walking barefoot
  • Gardening
  • Bathing
  • Getting a pedicure

  • Going to the gym
  • Visiting my family
  • Playing drums

Taurus Crystal #3: Pyrite

Pyrite is associated with the Solar Plexus, which is our center of outward energy of ambition and drive. If a Taurus loses ground and finds themselves steeped in negative patterns and thinking, Pyrite can brighten and inspire. It is known as ‘fools gold’, and can shift a poverty mindset towards an abundant one. It can spark joy and excitement when you feel stuck in a mundane routine. We love Pyrite in the square formation, bringing the warming energy of the sun to the earth (symbolized by the square), nourishing our physical and spritual growth.

A gentle reminder for this big full moon

You might read a lot of people saying ‘nows a time to release emotions, to let go’. I find, in my experience, it’s not that easy! Maybe start by doing simple breathwork, following the in and out breath to completion. Count your breaths, breathing in for 4 seconds and out for 4, with a pause between the in and out breath. Maybe write or draw what you are feeling. Drink a simple cup of earthy tea, being fully present to the flavor and temperature of every sip. There is a process to loosening and integrating heavy feelings, so find patience and compassion and be gentle with yourself 😊

If
the ocean
can calm itself
so can you.
we
are both
salt water
mixed
with
air.

-meditation
